Dr Gawel Kulisiewicz
Dr. Gawel Kulisiewicz is a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon experienced in Hip and Knee replacement surgery, and treating sports-related injuries around the knee.
After successfully completing his training through the Australian Orthopaedic training scheme in 2008, Dr. Kulisiewicz underwent further training undertaking 3 Fellowships in 18 months overseas and in Australia. In London Ontario, under the tutelage of Professor Robert Bourne, Dr Kulisiewicz performed complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery.
Upon returning to Canberra in 2009, he began his own orthopaedic practice. He has been performing elective lower limb orthopaedic surgery in the private and public sectors, as well as participating in the trauma roster at the Canberra Hospital.
In the last 5 years, Dr Kulisiewicz has gained further experience, enabling him to offer his patients Direct Anterior Hip replacement surgery. He was also the first in Canberra to perform the Robotic Total Knee replacement in August 2018.

Dr Kulisiewicz is assisted by his personal assistants Karen and Noeleen. Together they will help you to navigate the journey of diagnosis, treatment and surgery if required.
Clinical staff
Following surgery you will be required to return to our consulting rooms for review and medical assistance. These appointments will be arranged with our trained and highly experienced Registered Nurse, Nurse Liz McCarthy, who will ensure that your recovery runs smoothly.
Patients who travel long distances for their appointments can feel confident that we will streamline care, and endeavour to make your experience as stress free as possible.
Our dedicated clerical and nursing staff are able to help co-ordinate all aspects of your care, from organising your first visit, scheduling surgery and managing all post-operative appointments.
